1. MY FAVORITE HUMAN
STREAK 1: "When Professional Intersected The Personal"
Traveling professionally between various cities, finally he was driving to hers, not knowing that his professional travel would turn into a personal one. A wanderer by heart who never knew he'd get stuck in this city.
On the other hand, switching between jobs, she had about 20 days to spare. She was taking some time off before beginning in a new firm. She would apply for jobs in the morning till mid-afternoon and laze around the entire evening; either with her friends or the regular as they say “Netflix & Chill."
A random day while she was fast asleep at an odd hour, she got a phone call from an unknown number. (Usually, she wouldn’t pick up unknown calls but she thought it may be a job interview call)
“Hello! Is this Siyappa?” came from the other side.
“Yes, who may this be I wonder?” she was surprised as it was late that any recruiter should call at that hour.
“Hey, this is Mr. Fitoor. Remember me? We had recently met. I’m sorry I couldn’t call before. I was too busy with my work and travel”, he introduced.
“Oh hey hi. No worries. So what’s up”, she questioned.
“Ah actually was around you, uhmm as in your city. Thought if you’d be free, we could catch up after I’m done with work, as I’ll be leaving early tomorrow” he suggested.
“Oh yeah sure. I’d be free anyways, taking a break from work so”, she hesitantly replied.
“So I really have to get these cookies I love. Do you know this bakery called Kayani?” he asked.
“Yeah, I live nearby. Like just 5 minutes away (gosh every damn thing was 5 minutes away for her)”, she sounded excited (just something she already knew so)
“Oh! So I wanted the Shrewsbury biscuits from there. We’d go there together. Will that be okay?” he nervously asked.
“Hell yeah! I louvvvvvvvvv them. I’d come anytime until I know you're bribing me for the Shrewsbury. Haha”, she joked.
“Also could you help me with a restaurant nearby, I’m very hungry (damn his very hungry was like 2 spoons of rice)”, he asked her for suggestion.
“Try Nawab Asia, it has a good cuisine”, she immediately said.
“Thank you. See you later in the evening then!” he said.
“See you sooner”, she replied.
After the conversation, she started thinking about it and smiled to herself. She had been locked in her room for days, being all jobless and not going out which was making her upset and depressed. But this seemed to be a little happy change for her.
It was late at night and she didn’t hear from him. She thought ahh maybe this was it. The next morning she received a text which read “Hey I am extremely sorry I couldn’t make it, as work got me busy and had to leave for my city early today”.
Seeing this she replied “No problem Ditcher!” (with her evil smirk of course!)
Well little did he know that he would be taunted for this his entire life i.e. if they choose to stick around each other for good.
Wait - For - It...
